It’s halfway through summer and now you’ve found yourself wondering where are some cool, fun, and interesting places you could take photos to capture the remainder of that sweet summer essence you see all over social media. Well, I could recommend the usual summer spots like the pool or the beach but that's boring and I want your photos to stand out! So instead I’m going to share some places I personally scouted and have already photographed with my clients, friends, and models. So, whether it be for Instagram to share with your followers or just to have as a keepsake for yourself having a picturesque location is essential and will instantly upgrade and add a unique feel to your photos. So, let me help you stand out and share some locations you may have overlooked.
Here are some picturesque locations you can visit for your own enjoyment but can also get stunning photos, recommended to you by a photographer.
A Sunflower Field
I recently visited a sunflower and lavender field in Michigan with my family after scouting it out online for a potential photoshoot location. After finally getting a chance to visit I was so captivated by this beautiful location and knew I made the right call to visit it. I had to take a few pictures to share with my friends and social media to let them know what a beautiful place it is to relax and have cool photo opportunities. Definitely consider visiting a sunflower field this summer!
2. An Art Gallery
Recently I went to Beyond Van Gogh art exhibit in Detroit Michigan with my friends and the exhibit was absolutely captivating and inspirational. Going to an art gallery or exhibit is an excellent way to expose yourself to an elevated air of creativity and artistry. You get to experience so many amazing artists passions and creative innovations in such a unique way alongside getting inspired yourself. Not only do you get to support all of their hard work but you simultaneously have an opportunity to photoshoot yourself, the venue, the artwork or all the above potentially bringing more people to the stunning exhibit.
3. A Tennis Court
Yep you read that read that right, a tennis court. This summer I got a chance to shoot at a tennis court with my friends and we all had a really good time. This location is perfect for the summer its a good way to get outdoors, get active, and get some good ole Vitamin D while looking fabulous for you shoot day. Shooting at a tennis court offers you that cool sporty girl look and afterwards you can have a fun game of tennis!
4. A Lantern Festival
Back in June I went to a lantern festival with my best friends after seeing an ad for it on my Instagram, got to love the algorithm, it was such a dream come true. I made a vlog about it over on my YouTube channel if you'd like to check it out here. This goes without saying it was absolutely the perfect location for a photoshoot. There was so much to do and so much to shoot we all had a blast. I 100% recommend you adding a lantern festival to you summer photoshoot bucket list!
5. A Rooftop
We've now come to my final summer recommendation and that is a rooftop. This isn't for the folks who are afraid of heights, but if you're the fearless type rooftop shooting is so great. It doesn't matter what kind of rooftop it is whether it's bar, restaurant, apartment, parking garage, or whatever else as long as its safe! Rooftops have such a nice city or nature backdrop its going to make for a really cool photoshoot location. Rooftop photoshoots are my favorite kind of shoots since it offers such amazing views. Definitely worth adding to your summer photoshoot bucket list.
I hope my recommendations offered some unique locations you may have overlooked for some fun and exciting summer photoshoots. These locations are fun to visit regardless of taking pictures to go with family, friends, or lovers. If you're in the metro Detroit area consider booking your very own photoshoot with me at one of these lovely locations I frequent. I would love to provide you with stunning photos you can have forever to look back on. If you visit any of these locations after taking my recommendation please don't be shy let me know over on my Instagram how it went for you, I'd love to see how your shoot turned out and would be more than glad to share them!
